- We accept documents originated from Queensland / Northern Territory only.
- Documents issued by the Australian Government or Tertiary Education Institution, including academic certificate/transcript, medical documents, health checks, commercial, chemical, adoption documents, court documents (including Divorce Certificate/Divorce Order), agricultural documents, should be authenticated by both the QLD/NT Notary Public and the Department of Foreign Affairs & Trade Australia (DFAT) Brisbane/Darwin Passport Office prior to submitting to this office.

- Department of Foreign Affairs & Trade Brisbane Passport State Office (By appointment only)
- Original documents issued by the Queensland State Registry of Births Deaths and Marriages or QLD/NT Police Department i.e. birth certificate (full version), death certificate (full version), marriage certificate (standard version), single status certificate (a.k.a. no record of search) and Police Certificate can be submitted to this office directly for authentication.
- Documents that do not fall under item (3) and (4) (i.e Power of Attorney, Commercial Documents, Commercial Agreements, Company Letters, Medical Documents) need to be sealed by a Notary Public and then authenticated by Department of Foreign Affairs & Trade Australia Brisbane/Darwin Passport Office before submitting to this office.
- Health checks to be used for visa applications should be authenticated by the Department of Foreign Affairs Brisbane/Darwin Passport Office and a QLD/NT Notary Public first.

- Chinese Name Declarations must be signed in person in front of our officer at our office. Postal applicants are required to have the Declarations notarised by QLD/NT Notary Public prior to submitting to our office.
- For Academic Certificate / Transcript other than UQ/QUT/Bond/TAFE Queensland posted from overseas (Overseas Applications ONLY) which have not been authenticated by DFAT or Notary Public, please post your application to OUR OFFICE directly.The application should include an authorisation letter allowing our office to verify the documents for the applicant. If applicant only wish to send photocopies of the certificate/transcript, please sign at the back himself/herself and state that the documents are "A true copy from original". (Please note that we no longer accept Chinese translations by post as it MUST be presented and signed by the translator in person at our office.) Translated document can be notarised at Republic of China (Taiwan) courthouse as long as the English document has been authenticated at overseas TECO office.This process ONLY applies for overseas applicants (applications sent to our office directly) and it is a different process from #2 as we will then verify the documents with the organisation directly and it may take up to 3-4 weeks to complete the authentication process. (Depending on the response from the organisation).
UQ, QUT, TAFE Queensland and Bond University graduates applying from overseas are required to go through a different authentication process, please refer to:

Document Authentication Requirements for ALL applicants:
- Any applicants and their representatives/agents are required to fill in an application form with a copy of the applicant and his/her representative/agent's passports (Photo Page).
- If a representative is lodging the application, please submit the applicant's written consent letter.
- Applicants sending in original notarised documents of authorisation stamped by a QLD or NT Notary Public and MUST provide the notary public's contact details. (i.e Phone/Email/Fax number) - The notarial certificate should state the record has been verified with the issuing institution. A statement by a Notary that the document is a ‘true copy’ does not satisfy the verification requirement.
- Applicants applying for authentication on translated document must submit the applications in person and sign the translated documents at our office.
- The authentication fee is AU$22 per document (effective from 12 OCT 2015), which can be paid by cash, bank cheque or money order. Please make your cheque payable to the "Taipei Economic and Cultural Office, Brisbane, Australia". We DO NOT accept personal cheques.
- Processing time: 3 business days.
- Urgent handling fee: extra AU$11 per document. The documents can be picked up/posted on the next business day. However, urgent handling DOES NOT apply to overseas application/ documents notarised by Notary Public.
- Applicants by post: Please enclose a covering letter, and a prepaid self-addressed return envelope (i.e. Registered Post or Express Post Envelope) for the returning of your documents. Applicants outside Australia must pay an additional postage to have their documents returned by International Recorded Delivery and also fill out an overseas post checklist.
