Position Overview:
The Taipei Representative Office in the EU and Belgium is looking for an Assistant to the Press Division. In this role you will be responsible for, among other things, drafting/editing our weekly newsletter and publishing via Mailchimp; proofreading and polishing a wide variety of texts including articles, speeches, press releases and correspondence; monitoring local press; writing posts for social media; producing graphics; filming and editing video; photographing events; and liaising with local press and outside agencies as required. For this role you will need native-level English, a keen eye for detail, a creative approach and excellent written ability. Knowledge of Taiwan is a definite bonus, as is ability in Mandarin Chinese.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher.
- English as a mother tongue or equivalent English ability
- Excellent written English and the ability to draft and polish written documents for a variety of purposes.
- A good understanding of social media.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.
- The right to work in Belgium.
- A full driving license.
Duties:
- Drafting and editing the weekly Taiwan newsletter
- Proofreading and editing written documents including emails, letters, reports, articles, speeches and more.
- Producing posts for social media, including graphics and video.
- Designing graphics, logos, posters, brochures and other items.
- Liaising with press and outside agencies.
- Assisting with events and exhibitions.
