Taiwan further granting Brunei Nationals Visa-free entry extended to July 31, 2020

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Republic of China (Taiwan) announces one year extension of its trial of 14 days visa-free entry program for any Brunei national, as well as permanent resident with a Brunei Certificate of Identity, effective from August 1, 2019 to July 31, 2020.

In order to attract more visitors from Southeast and south Asian countries to Taiwan for tourism or business purposes, as well as to broaden and deepen Taiwan’s interactions, exchanges and cooperation with these nations at all levels, the visa exemption trial program for the nationals of Brunei (including the permanent residents who hold Brunei Certificates of Identity), Thailand and the Philippines will be extended to July 31, 2020, with the maximum stay of 14 days, for short-term tourism, business, visiting and cultural exchanges.

All the passengers are advised to posses a validity of the passport, or Certificate of Identity at least 6 months and other required documents of traveling confirmation. For any stay longer than 14 days in Taiwan or other purpose of visits such as employment, study, residence with family or attending courses, it is required to apply for an appropriate visa at this Office.
