The Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Brunei Darussalam continues to partner with Taiwan Business Association in Brunei Darussalam and Taiwan graduates Association of Brunei Darussalam to launch a charity campaign by donating 10 Taiwan-made wheelchairs to PIHM Hospital, Temburong at 10:00am on 5 August, 2020. These wheelchairs were presented to Ms. Siti Mardiyah, Senior Head Administration and Mr. Ady Adillah, Medical Superintendent of PIHM Hospital, jointly by Representative Andrew H.C. Lee, Chairman Yap Ong Chuan, and Vice Chairman Alex Lo of the Associations at PIHM Hospital.
Following the previous donations of 40 wheelchairs to the Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha Hospital (RIPAS) on May 12, 2020, 60 wheelchairs to the PMMPMHAMB Hospital, Tutong on July 9, 2020, and 60 wheelchairs to the Suri Seri Begawan(SSB) Hospital, Kuala Belait, today’s wheelchairs donation is the fourth of its kind
as part of charity campaign conducted by the Taipei Economic and Cultural Iffice and the two Associations symbolizing the great importance that the government of Taiwan has attached to its bilateral relations with Brunei.
Inspired by the commonly shared value and faith, and the friendship extended by the people of Taiwan, Taipei Economic and Cultural Office, Taiwan Graduates Association and Taiwan Business Association managed to fund 174 wheelchairs in last April. After a serial of donations to RIPAS Hospital, PMMPMHAMB Hospital, SSB Hospital, and PIHM Hospital, the remaining wheelchairs will be arranged to donate to the other private charity groups and organizations. This concerted effort fully demonstrates the corporate social responsibility practiced by entrepreneurs affiliated with the Associations, fulfills the spirit and value of "Taiwan can help, Taiwan is helping", and also serves as a catalyst to further enhance existing bilateral relationship between Taiwan and Brunei.
