The Indonesian government notified the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) of the swine fever epidemic in Africa for the first time on December 17. The epidemic is mainly distributed in North Sumatra and the pathogens include live pigs, people, vehicles and feed. At present, our government has banned tourists from Indonesia from bringing pork and other livestock meat products into Taiwan since 2:00 pm on December 13, 2019. Once a passenger is seized in violation of the rules, a fine of NT $ 200,000 to 1 million will be imposed.
