2022 Taiwan Fellowship Program open for application from 1st May to 30th June 2021

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) of the Republic of China (Taiwan) is pleased to announce the 2022 Taiwan Fellowship Program, an exciting opportunity for scholars and experts overseas who are interested in topics related to Taiwan, cross-strait relations, mainland China, the Asia Pacific, and Sinology to conduct research at Taiwan’s universities or academic institutions.

This year we encourage those interested in topics such as political-economic dynamics in the era of COVID-19 pandemic, Asia-Pacific regions securityNew Southbound Policy, global information security, defense strategy, Confrontation of Disinformation, Gender Equality Studies, to apply.

Recipients will receive the following benefits:

  • Monthly grants
  1. Professors, associate professors, research fellows, or associate research fellows: NT$60,000 (around USD 2,100)
  2. Assistant professors, assistant research fellows, or doctoral candidates: NT$50,000 (around USD1,770)
  • One round-trip, economy-class ticket for the most direct route to Taiwan. (The subsidy will be decided by MOFA in accordance with the relevant regulations).

Eligibility:

Recipients shall be professors, associate professors, assistant professors, post-doctoral researchers, doctoral candidates, or doctoral program students at related departments of universities, or are research fellows at an equivalent level in academic institutions (Universities or institutions shall not be based in Taiwan.)

The terms of fellowship can be 3 to 12 months, starting from January 1, 2022 through December 31, 2022.  Applicants are required to submit a completed application to the Taipei Economic and Trade Office in Surabaya after submitting the online application on the official website http://taiwanfellowship.ncl.edu.tw/eng/apply.aspx

The application is open from May1 to June 30, 2021.
