Taiwanese cyclist Jacky Chen arrived in Ireland on August 9th and visited the Taipei Representative Office in Ireland on the morning of August 13th. During his visit, he met with the Head Representative Dr. Pierre Yang, who noted that Ireland is approximately twice the size of Taiwan, yet boasts a vivid green countryside. Ireland is not only rich in historical and cultural heritage, but also has stunning natural scenery.
As sports are very popular in Ireland, cyclist Jacky Chen has met many like-minded people along his journey. He is impressed by the friendliness and enthusiasm of the Irish, and fully believes that “The most beautiful scenery of the journey is people”.
Jacky has cycled across North America, South America and Europe since 2015. He plans to expand his journey to Africa and Asia in the future. On his trip to Ireland, he will cycle through Dublin, the West Coast of Cork and also the famous Cliffs of Moher.
Finally, Jacky Chen thanked all the Taiwanese Embassies and Offices that he has visited for their encouragement and support, noting that his families and friends in Taiwan are always the solid support of this once in a lifetime journey.
