Taipei signs MOU to host 2021 Rotary International Convention

Taipei City Mayor Ko Wen-je signed a Memorandum of Understanding paving the way to welcome an estimated 40,000 attendees to the Rotary International Convention in 2021.
Rotary International is a service organization based in the United States and aiming to bring together business and professional leaders. It has more than 1 million members worldwide.
The event is scheduled for June 12-16 at the Taipei World Trade Center in the Nangang District. Taipei defeated 10 rivals, including Hong Kong, Macau, Houston and Hamburg to win the honor.
Organizers said the convention, the largest meeting of its kind in Taiwan for decades, was expected to generate NT$4 billion (US$129 million) in business, with airlines, hotels, restaurants, travel agencies and department stores all expected to benefit from the presence of thousands of visitors.
