Chung-kwang Tien, Representative of Taipei Economic and Cultural Center in India, accompanied by Economic Division Director Hung Yang, Science & Technology Division Director Henry Chen and Education Division Director Peters Chen, was invited to speak of recent developments in Taiwan-India relations to members from the Indian Association of Foreign Affairs Correspondents at India International Center on Oct. 23, 2019.
Highlighting Taiwan’s New Southbound Policy has brought Taiwan and India closer to each other, especially in the trade, education and S&T areas, Amb. Tien also took questions from the journalists about Taiwan’s strained relationship with China, investment from Taiwan to India under the US-China trade dispute, and the failure “One Country, Two Systems” in view of the months-long protest in Hong Kong.
