On behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of China on Taiwan, the Taipei Economic and Cultural Center in Chennai donated a batch of wheelchairs, water mattresses and many essential medical items to the National Hospital of Colombo on May 8, 2019 to assist the victims of recent bomb blasts in Sri Lanka.

People of Taiwan have come forward to assist the victims of recent bomb blasts in Sri Lanka. On behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of China on Taiwan, the Taipei Economic and Cultural Center in Chennai donated a batch of wheelchairs, water mattresses and many essential medical items to the National Hospital of Colombo on May 8, 2019. Mr Peter Pan, the Resident Representative of Taipei World Trade Center Office in Colombo and Captain Lee Chih-jen, President of Taiwan-Sri Lanka Friendship Association, representing Mr. Charles Li, Director-General of TECC in Chennai, handed over the donation of wheelchairs, water mattresses and many other essential items to Dr Samindi Samarakoon, Deputy Director of National Hospital of Colombo. Ms Pushpa Ramyani Zoysa, National Cordinator ( Training) and Triage Team Leader, Lions Past District Governor Lasantha Goonewardena, Director of National Youth Services Council and NITA Mr Sathira Sarachchandra and Secretary of Lions Club of Colombo Mid City Mr Wasantha Wettasingha were also present.
