The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the ROC (Taiwan) made the third donation in Colombo on May 25, 2019 in the aftermath of the Easter Sunday bombings in Sri Lanka.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the ROC (Taiwan) made the third donation in Colombo, Sri Lanka on May 25, 2019 through the joint efforts of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Center in Chennai and the Lions Club Mid-City Colombo. Present at the donation were Hon. Dr. Ravi Karunanayake, Minister of Power and Energy, Most Rev. Medagama Saddananda Thero, Mr. Lasantha Goonawardena, Former Governor of the Lions Club Mid-City Colombo, Councillors of Colombo City Council and hundreds of local residents. Capt Chih-Jen Lee, President of Sri Lanka-Taiwan Friendship Association and Mr. Peter Pan, Director of TAITRA Colombo Office, were invited to witness the donation on behalf of Mr. Charles Li, Director-General of TECC in Chennai.
Items of donation include eyeglasses, wheelchairs, artificial limbs, clutches, school utensils for school children, dry rations and services of diabetic checking and treatment. The love and assistance from the government and people of Taiwan were warmly received by the Sri Lankan government and people. While expressing his appreciation to the Lions Club Mid-City Colombo, Mr. Charles Li also extended his best wishes and support for the government of Sri Lanka in its efforts restoring stability and security very soon.
