The Taipei Mission in the Republic of Latvia participated in the“Skola Education Fair 2018” international education exhibition held at the Riga Kipsalas International Exhibition Center from February 23rd to February 25th with an aim to introduce current developments of higher education in Taiwan so as to attract more Latvian students to pursue degrees or learn Mandarin Chinese in Taiwan universities.
A conspicuous board of "Study in Taiwan, Learning Plus Adventure”, erected above the Taiwan booth, successfully attracted fairgoers’ attention. Posters and promotional videos from various universities in Taiwan and tourism information leaflets about Taiwan were also showcased at the Booth. The Mission especially compiled a recommended list of degrees programs taught in English ranging from business administration, finances to international relations at visitors' disposal.
High school and university students, some with their parents, flocking to the Taiwan Booth throughout three days' exhibition. Ms. Sabine Penca, who had actually studied in Taiwan, shared her experience and introduced the culture of Taiwan at the Taiwan booth, attracting numerous fairgoers constantly.
This is the Mission’s first participation at “Skola Education Fair”. More than a dozen foreign embassies including Canada and the United Kingdom, as well as 140 educational institutions took part in the exhibition which attracted more than 20,000 visitors in total.
