The 2018 Taiwan Trade Delegation to Lithuania, Poland, Romania, and Bulgaria, organized by Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) and composed of 22 Taiwanese companies, visited Lithuania from April 16th to 18th, 2018 to further foster close partnership with their Lithuanian counterparts. Aside from visiting Lithuanian government trade and investment agencies and high-tech companies, the Delegation members also conducted business to business meetings at the Vilnius Best Western Hotel with more than one hundred Lithuanian representatives from various industries.
The Delegation was briefed on policies, incentives, and comparative advantages to attract foreign investment and development strategies of key and priority industries forged by Lithuanian government. Witnessed by Chair of Taiwan Friendship Group of Lithuanian Parliament Gintaras Steponavicius and Representative Wu of Taipei Mission in the Republic of Latvia, a memorandum of understanding was signed between Director Hua Su of TAITRA and the General Director Almantas Danilevicius of Vilnius Chamber of Commerce and Crafts for providing information and assistance to serve their respective members. During the B2B meetings, the Delegation members provided their information on their latest products and present some samples of a variety of electronic products, machineries (turn keys), fasteners, auto parts, bicycle parts, medical products, 3D printers, packing materials, functional fabric and more to share with visiting counterparts.
A field trip to Kaunas Free Economy Zone especially inspiring the Delegation members, when they visited several high-tech and automation intelligence companies in the Zone. During visit to the Elinta companies Group, the Delegation was amazed by its advanced designing on disruptive electronics and automated control systems technology. Blessed by its geographical location connecting EU and CIS nations, Lithuania is a potential partner especially on information technology with Taiwan.
