Taiwan WuFeng University delegation, led by Grace Hu, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees, visited Riga Technical University, Vilnius Kolegija, University of Applied Sciences and Tallinn University of Technology in early June to explore possibilities and feasibilities of exchanges and cooperation and bore fruitful results. Several memorandums of understanding were signed between WuFeng University and its counterparts in the fields of exchanges of faculty and staff members, students and publications and joint researches and and symposia.
During the visits, Vice President Jack Lee made presentations on the "Industry-academic Cooperative Program for Indian Students" in WuFeng University. The Program facilitates Indian students in WuFeng to intern in Far-east Machinery Co. Ltd. and a dozen industries near Chia Yi area and employed in those companies after graduation. With the employment rate of more than 90%, the Program is partly financed by Taiwan Ministry of Education in line with the government's new south-bound policy.
Chairperson Hu also offered to design special programs, conducted in English,for Baltic students ranging from two weeks to one year in WuFeng university. Furthermore, to echo Taipei Mission chief R.C. Wu's introduction on Taiwan scholarship programs, she promised to offer additional subsidies to Baltic students, who study at WuFeng through Taiwan scholarship programs.
