On the afternoon of November 30, 2018, ROC (Taiwan) Ambassador H.E. Jeffery S.C. Hsiao and Mrs. Hsiao were invited to witness the blessing and opening of the Rongrong Piggery, Chicken, Home Gardening and Boat Project that was held at the Marshall Christian High School located on the offshore Rongrong Island of Majuro Atoll.
Given the significance of assisting remote RMI offshore islands to achieve self-sufficiency through implementing food security policy, the Government of the Republic of China (Taiwan) for many years has been keen on providing financial and technical assistance to fulfill this purpose. The Rongrong Project is just another story of successful agricultural and technical cooperation between the ROC (Taiwan) and the RMI.
Beside Ambassador Hsiao and Mrs. Hsiao, Many RMI high-level officials also attended the ceremony, including Minister in Assistance to the President and Environment David Paul, Minister of Finance Brenson Wase, Minister of Justice Jack Ading, Senator Sherwood Tibon and Majuro Mayor Ladie Jack.
