Taipei, Jan. 27 (CNA) Representatives from three diplomatic allies of the Republic of China (Taiwan) voiced their countries' support for Taiwan's participation in the World Health Assembly (WHA) at a World Health Organization (WHO) board meeting Saturday.
The government had previously decided not to press its allies to submit a proposal on Taiwan's WHA participation at Saturday's Executive Board meeting in Geneva, but eSwatini, Haiti and Paraguay still argued that Taiwan had a role to play in the WHA. In his address to the board, Pierre André Dunbar, ambassador and permanent representative of Haiti to the United Nations and other international organizations in Geneva, said no country should be excluded from joining the WHA.
