New entry restrictions on foreign visitors who have recently visited China in the past 14 days

In light of the ongoing novel coronavirus outbreak, the government has announced a new set of border controls that apply to foreign visitors seeking entry to the country who have visited the PRC (excluding Hong Kong and Macau) in the past 14 days, effective from Feb. 7.
1) Foreign visitors meeting the aforementioned conditions will be barred from entry except as outlined in items 2 and 3.
2) Foreign visitors who have urgent business in Taiwan and meet the aforementioned conditions can apply for a visa, but must submit specific documents including a health check.
3) Foreign residents holding a valid ARC who meet the aforementioned conditions will be granted entry, but must self-isolate at home for 14 days and carefully monitor their health.
