The application date of Taiwan Fellowship 2020 was extended to July 20, 2019
The Taiwan Fellowship (hereinafter referred to as “the Fellowship”) sponsored by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) of the Republic of China (Taiwan) is now open for Filipino applicants to apply.
The Fellowship aims to invite scholars and experts interested in researches related to Taiwan, cross-strait relations, China, Asia-Pacific region, Sinology, Taiwan’s participation in regional economic integration, New Southbound Policy, Asia-Pacific regional security, countermeasures against disinformation and gender studies, to pursue advanced studies at universities or academic institutions in Taiwan.
The online application will be open from May 1 to July 20, 2019. The said Fellowship recipients should undertake their research in Taiwan during the period from January 1, 2020 to December 31, 2020.
MOFA will sponsor the Fellowship recipients with the following financial assistance:
- Monthly grants are paid at the beginning of each month.
(a) Professor, associate professor, research fellow, or associate research fellow: NT60,000 (approximate to Php 100,000).
(b) Assistant professor, assistant research fellow, or doctoral
candidate: NT50,000 (approximate to Php 84,000).
- One round-trip air-ticket: Economy class for the most direct route between Taiwan and the Philippines.
- Duration of the Fellowship: 3 to 12 months.
- Accident insurance coverage (plus a medical insurance for accidental injuries): NT 1 million (approximate to Php 1.6 million)
Applicant is required to fill out an on-line application form, which shall be submitted with the following documents to the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in the Philippines before July 20, 2019 for qualification review:
- Resume (including a publication list);
- Research proposal (three pages in standard research format);
- Two recommendation letters, or one recommendation letter and one approval letter from the head of the applicant’s working institute/agency/organization.
