The Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in the Philippines (TECO) announced that starting from 25 March 2021, applicants applying for document authentication must schedule an appointment through email at teco.authentication@gmail.com.
【Email Appointment Guidelines】
- One (1) application only per email. Please write the applicant's full name in English in the email subject line.
- The applicant’s email must include all the following details:
(1) Applicant's full name in English as it appears on his/her passport or ID (First Name, Middle Name /Initials, Surname);
(2) If submitted via an agent, include the agent's full name in English as it appears on his/her passport or ID;
(3) Applicant's or Agent's Mobile number;
(4) Documents for Authentication;
(5) Purpose of Authentication;
(6) Applicants making an appointment for the authentication of the DFA apostille must indicate their DFA Apostille Serial Number and Keycode in the request email; However, it is not a requirement for nationals of the Republic of China (Taiwan) and foreigners with R.O.C. Alien Resident Certificate (ARC) who would like to make an appointment for the authentication of the “Special Power of Attorney”.
- Upon receiving the email, TECO will inform the applicant of his/her schedule of appointment within seven (7) working days. Incomplete submission will not be given an appointment.
- Due to limited slots and to be fair to all applicants, an agent is required to secure a slot for only ONE (1) application per week. Otherwise, all appointments made by the agent not abiding by the foregoing requirement will automatically be cancelled and no further appointments will be accepted for the subsequent three (3) months.
- After receiving the confirmation email from TECO, if there is a need for cancellation, please send a request email to TECO in advance at authentication@gmail.com and wait for TECO to confirm your cancellation. Failure to do so will result in TECO’s rejection of any application request from the applicant or their agent for the subsequent three (3) months.
【Important reminders for filing and claiming of documents】
- Before submission, please visit TECO’s website and read the requirements and advisories carefully to ensure that all the required documents are prepared properly. In addition, all photocopies must be printed in A4 size paper. Upon filing, if the documents are found incomplete, the application will NOT be accepted.
- Please report to TECO’s reception counter at the ground floor, Tower 1, RCBC PLAZA on time as arranged. Appointments will automatically be cancelled if applicants come late more than 10 minutes.
- Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, TECO’s workforce is only at half capacity. The authentication processing time will take eight (8) working days. Expedite requests are not accepted unless there is an emergency or urgent humanitarian reason, along with any supporting documents.
- Claiming documents do not require an appointment. Please pick up your documents within two (2) months from the pick-up date as indicated on top right corner, come to TECO from 2:30 to 4:00 pm on working days. The applicant or agent must bring the original receipt and ID to claim the documents.
