On June 4, members of the Aboriginal choir of the Chinese Hsin-Shu Baptist Church in Taipei performed at the Stockholm Early Music Festival. The performance lasted for one hour and the audience was treated to music and dance of the Amis - a matrilineal society - who call themselves “The Nation of the Sun”, and of Bunun tribe (“hunters”).
The performance, which was sold out, is sponsored by the ROC Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Aboriginal Ethnic Group as well as the Stockholm Early Music Festival in Sweden.
Stockholm Early Music Festival is held from June 1-6 and is the largest international event for historical music in the Nordic countries. The festival highlights the diversity of early music, offering a programme of known and unknown music from all over the world, featuring well-renowned Swedish and international artists. The festival has been held annually in the historical setting of Stockholm’s Old Town since 2002.
