Ambassador Liao in Göteborg to discuss academic cooperation and visit Asian Documentary Film Festival

On November 16th, 2018, Ambassador Liao, the representative of Taipei Mission in Sweden, paid a visit to Göteborg, the second largest city in Sweden.
In this trip, Ambassador Liao met with Dr. Eva Wiberg, President of Gothenburg University, and Hans Abelius, Director of International Affairs, to discuss future academic cooperation. In the evening, Ambassador Liao held a dinner banquet with overseas Taiwanese and awarded a certificate to a long-time resident Angela Huang in recognition of her outstanding contributions to assisting Taipei Mission in Sweden and local Taiwanese in Sweden.
Ambassador Liao and his wife were also invited to participate in the annual Asian Documentary Film Festival and delivered a speech at the opening ceremony. Two Taiwanese films, "Small Talk" and "Body talk", both about gender equality and women's empowerment were shown in this festival. In his speech, Ambassador Liao talked about Taiwan's progress in various fields, including gender equality and LGBT rights that shows that Taiwan is ahead of most Asian countries within this field. A number of Swedish people also attended the film festival and enjoyed the speech.
