Taipei Mission in Sweden arranged a march named “Walk with Taiwan” which started at 10:30 on May 16. The goal of the parade was to seek for support for Taiwan’s participation in the 72rd World Health Assembly held from May 20 to 28, 2019 in Geneva.
Among the participants were the former President of Taiwan-Sweden Parliamentary Friendship Association, Caroline Szyber; the political editor Lars Ströman, as well as the representatives from Formosa Culture Association, Taiwanese Chamber of Commerce in Sweden, Han Sheng Mandarin Språkcenter, along with many Taiwanese students in Sweden. The
march started at Sergelarkaden, the busiest area in Stockholm and finished at the Central Station.
H.E. Daniel Liao, the Representative of the Taipei Mission in Sweden, said in an interview that the global public medical system will not be complete without Taiwan being part of it. Taiwan is capable and has the willingness to contribute to international community by participating in the World Health Organization. Recently, the U.S.A, the U.K., Canada and the E.U. have given their support to Taiwan’s effort. By arranging “Walk with Taiwan” we want to make it know to the international community that Taiwan can Help, Representative Liao said.
