Representative Francis Kuo-Hsin Liang attended the Lunar New Year celebration hosted by the Taipei Business Association in Singapore on 17 February 2019.
In his address, Representative Liang wished everyone present a Happy Lunar New Year. He spoke of the close partnership between Taiwan and Singapore in the areas of trade, tourism as well as cultural and educational exchanges. In 2018, Taiwan was Singapore’s fifth largest trading partner and tourist arrivals between Taiwan and Singapore exceeded 850,000, setting a new record. Taiwan artistes and performing arts groups have also become a favorite fixture at Singapore’s River Hongbao Festival and its annual Huayi Festival.
Additionally, Representative Liang commended the Taipei Business Association in Singapore for its excellent programs and thanked the association for supporting the initiatives of the Taipei Representative Office in Singapore and the Taiwan government.
Over 170 persons, including the office bearers of the Overseas Community Affairs Council, members of the Taipei Business Association in Singapore, and other officials from the Taipei Representative Office in Singapore gathered at the celebration.
