In 2015, Taiwan and Eswatini inked the Agreement on Cooperation in Technical and Vocational Education and Training. The two countries have since successfully cultivated a raft of top technical talents.
As part of Taiwan’s promise to continue enhancing the practical experience of vocational students in the Kingdom of Eswatini, it supplied a laboratory and workshop to Eswatini College of Technology and Gwamile Vocational and Commercial Training Institution.
The handover was made by Ambassador Liang to Lady Howard Mabuza, minister of education and training, under the bilateral Technical and Vocational Education and Training Enhancement Project.
Ambassador Liang said the project shows how Taiwan Can Help realise His Majesty King Mswati III’s National Development Strategy - Vision 2022 and ensure the economy remains on the growth track.
“As President Tsai Ing-wen remarked during her state visit in April 2018, we help each other because we genuinely want to see each other do better,” Ambassador Liang said. “We truly believe these facilities will play a real role in keeping Eswatini moving along the path to greater prosperity."
