A selection of Taiwanese LGBTQ films that were originally meant to be featured in the inaugural Queer East Film Festival are streaming online from 18 April until 17 May as part of the festivals ‘QE: HomeSexual’ Initiative. Festival Director Wang Yi said that Taiwan was chosen to be one of the focal points because the country became the first in Asia to recognise same-sex marriage in May 2019.
The Taiwanese films featured in the online event can be streamed for £2.99 each, with proceeds going to independent cinemas that were to partner with the festival. Visit https://queereast.co/vod to access the digital content.
