Taipei Representative Office in the UK Edinburgh Office celebrated the 108th National Day of the Republic of China (Taiwan)

On 9 October 2019, the Taipei Representative Office in the UK Edinburgh Office hosted a reception in celebration of the 108th National Day of the Republic of China (Taiwan) at the Edinburgh City Chambers. The event welcomed guests from across the Scottish parliamentarians, city councillors, academics, business people and members of the overseas Taiwanese community.
In his address, Director General Jason Chien-Chen Lien of the Taipei Representative Office in the UK Edinburgh Office highlighted the bilateral relationship between Taiwan and Scotland on culture and economics. He also expressed his gratitude to the Scottish Parliament and The City of Edinburgh Council for supporting Taiwan's social reforms in the recent years.
The reception also featured The City of Edinburgh Music School jazz band and bagpipers performing Taiwanese and Scottish musics, and Taiwanese contemporary artist Sherry Wang's art creation. (E)
