The Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Atlanta hosted the 2017 Year End Party for ROC (Taiwan) golfers in Atlanta, Georgia on December 10 at the PGA Tour Superstore in Sugarloaf, Georgia. The reception was followed by a ceremony for senior golfers from the Taiwanese-American community to donate golf clubs to Taiwanese student golfers.
Members from local Taiwanese SECGA and TGA Golf Associations donated more than ten sets of golf clubs and hundreds of single golf clubs to students. Director General Vincent Liu of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Atlanta commended senior golfers for their support and donations. DG Liu promotes health and fitness in the local Taiwanese community. He said he hoped the event would encourage more sports activities.
To sponsor the event, the PGA Tour Superstore provided discount vouchers for all guests. TECO also presented Certificates of Appreciation to golfers making a donation. Almost one hundred people attended the party, including members of Taiwanese SECGA and TGA Golf clubs, Georgia Tech students, OCAC Commissioner Dr. Ray Wang, OCAC Advisor Mark Chen, Marisa Lee, John Lu, and Been-Chuan Lee.
