The Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Atlanta was invited by Johns Creek Mayor Mike Bodker and its City Council to join the inaugural Johns Creek International Festival – Taste of the World – on April 21.
During the opening ceremony, Mayor Bodker specially introduced Director General Vincent Liu and thanked him for TECO’s participation. Congresswoman Karen Handel (GA-R) visited TECO’s booth. During her visit, DG Liu presented her with information on Taiwan’s economic development, trade, culture, and tourism. Congresswoman Handel was impressed by the famous Taiwanese dessert, pineapple shortcake.
TECO’s booth was decorated with the ROC national flag, traditional Taiwanese Hakka floral fabric, and trade and tourism brochures. People waited in line to have their names translated into Chinese with traditional calligraphy. Two Taiwanese airlines, China Airlines and EVA Air, also participated in TECO’s booth.
There were more than ten thousand people who joined the fun on this beautiful sunny spring weekend. TECO officers Daniel Hung, Tony Tai, Jerry Chang, and Liz Wang were at TECO’s booth to introduce Taiwan to everyone.
