The 82nd annual Atlanta Dogwood Festival was held in Piedmont Park from April 13-15, 2018. The Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Atlanta was invited to join the International Pavilion.
TECO’s booth was decorated with the ROC national flag, traditional Taiwanese Hakka floral fabric, a traditional embroidered banner, and aboriginal costumes. In additional to displaying cultural brochures and tourist information, TECO invited Ms. Kristie Walden to do face painting, and Ms. Lisa Chan to demonstrate Taiwanese tea ceremonies. TECO officers Daniel Hung and Liz Wang were at TECO’s booth to introduce Taiwan to visitors.
The Atlanta Dogwood Festival is an arts and crafts festival held each spring at Piedmont Park. It’s the longest running outdoor arts and cultural event in Atlanta. It’s also the biggest in the Southeast USA, and the third largest in the whole USA. Each year, more than 200 artists come to demonstrate their artworks, and it attracts over two hundred thousand people to the event.
This year, the International Pavilion included Taiwan, Canada, Germany, Switzerland, Hungary, Mexico, Argentina, Pakistan, and the Latin American and Arab Associations.
