Director General Vincent and Mrs. Liu of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Atlanta were invited by Allen Yee, Chair of the Board of Directors, Center for Puppetry Arts, to attend their String Fling Gala on September 22.
The String Fling Gala is a fundraising event to support the Center for Puppetry Arts’ arts-infused educational programming. Many local businesses, banks, law firms give financial support to the center. Proceeds from the event provide creative experiences for children, families, students, and arts lovers of all ages.
The Center for Puppetry Arts opened to the public in 1978. 2018 marks the 40th anniversary of the center. Today it is the largest American non-profit organization solely dedicated to the art of puppetry. Since its inception, the center has worked to serve the diverse populations of Atlanta, the state of Georgia, and the country at large. The center reaches the community through its focus on core programming: performance, Museum and education.
More than 300 guests attended the gala. Deputy Director General of TECO Daniel Hung, Mrs. Karen Hung, and TECO officer Liz Wang were also at the event.
