Director General Vincent Liu attended ROC National Day Flag Raising Ceremony

The Atlanta Taiwanese Community held a Flag Raising Ceremony at the Cultural Center of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Atlanta on Sunday, October 7 to celebrate National Day of the Republic of China (Taiwan).
Director General Vincent Liu and all TECO officers as well as Overseas Community Affairs Council (OCAC) Senior Advisors Dr. Raymond Ho, Marisa Lee, and Been-Chuan Lee; OCAC Commissioners Dr. Ray Wang and Mark Chen; and OCAC Advisors Dr. Luke Chang, Fu-Tai Lu, and Ellen Chiang attended the ceremony. More than 250 people joined the event.
In his remarks, DG Liu quoted President Tsai Ing-wen’s major emphasis in her speeches on democracy, justice, and the innovation economy as goals for Taiwan’s future development. He also talked about US-Taiwan relations, and Taiwan’s democracy and economic development. 2019 marks the 40th anniversary of Atlanta and Taipei’s Sister City relationship. DG Liu invited all in the Taiwanese community to join the celebration.
The Ceremony was hosted by Todd Yu, President of the ROC Veterans Association in Atlanta.
