Director-General and Mrs. Scott Lai hosted a dinner with the delegation of the College of Social Science, National Taiwan University (NTU), led by Dr. Yun-han Chu, Professor of the Department of Political Science, NTU and Dr. Yu-tzung Chang, Associate Dean of the NTU College of Social Sciences on October 1, 2017 in Boston. The delegation included 17 members from the Department of Political Science, the Department of Economics, the NTU Graduate Institute of National Development, the Center for East Asia Democratic Studies, the Institute of Political Science at Academia Sinica, and National Tsing Hua University.
Mr. Lai said it was a pleasure, being a former student himself of the Political Science Department at National Taiwan University (NTU), to welcome the delegation to Boston. He was especially delighted to have the opportunity to see Professor Yun-han Chu and so many friends from the Department. He looks forward to welcoming Taiwan scholars to take part in various exchange programs in the area’s prestigious universities frequently.
The delegation expressed its appreciation to Director-General and Mrs. Scott Lai. The delegation held two conferences at Harvard University and presented their research findings from the Program for East Asia Democratic Studies.
The delegation visited Boston between September 28 and October 3, 2017, focusing on the issues of East Asia and Mainland China political studies with the Department of Government, Harvard University, Fairbank Center for Chinese Studies, and the Harvard University Asia Center.
