TECO Boston Welcomes New Staff, as Directors Return to Taiwan

The Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Boston thanked Director-General Douglas Y.T. Hsu and Cultural Center Director Hung-wei Ou for their dedicated service on July 13. Director-General Hsu and Director Ou will return to Taiwan. Director-General Hsu will be promoted to head of the Department of North American Affairs in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA).
The reception included Chinese media from the Epoch Times, Singtao Newspaper, and other outlets. Mr. Hsu and Mr. Ou thanked all in attendance for their support and look forward to future partnership opportunities. During the coronavirus pandemic, TECO-Boston worked with local Taiwanese groups to provide more than 800,000 surgical and reusable cloth masks to communities and hospitals in New England.
TECO-Boston also welcomed Director Pan and staff member Ling-Mei Wong. Director Chao Jung Pan will oversee the Culture Center, continuing the work of Director Ou in New England. Wong is the former editor of the bilingual Chinese-English Sampan Newspaper, and will manage communications on behalf of TECO-Boston. The 30-minute ceremony was warm and welcoming.
