Director-General Jonathan Sun of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Boston (TECO-Boston) participated in the donation ceremony of 20,000 surgical masks held in Methuen on August 25. These masks were donated by the Taiwan Chamber of Commerce of New England (TCCNE) and will be distributed among the communities of Methuen, Lowell, Lawrence and Haverhill.
The Chamber was represented by President I-hui Lai. Congresswoman Lori Trahan (D-MA), Methuen Mayor Neil Perry, and Lowell Mayor John Leahy were present. Attendees thanked the Taiwan Chamber for its generosity, as the surgical masks will greatly help safeguard the health of seniors and frontline workers.
Director-General Sun thanked Congresswoman Trahan for her friendship and support of Taiwan. He looks forward to additional opportunities to further the relationship between Taiwan and Massachusetts.
