Director General Calvin Ho and colleagues attended the 2017 Taiwan Culinary Workshop

The 2017 Taiwan Culinary Workshop was held in Youngstown, Ohio on September 8, 2017, attracting around 100 locals and VIPs attending this event. US Representative Bill Johnson, Mayor of Youngstown John A. McNally, CEO-elect James Dignan of Youngstown/Warren Region Chamber of Commerce and Commissioner Florence Wang were also present and praised the great relationship Taiwan enjoys with the US.
Director General Calvin Ho from the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Chicago attended the workshop with colleagues and engaged closely with the attendees.
In appreciation of Director General Ho’s great efforts promoting bilateral interaction and cooperation, Representative Johnson and Mayor McNally presented respectively a Proclamation and a Key to the City to Director General Ho. Local TV station 21 WMFJ covered the entire event.
The two chefs invited worked together with local students of hospitality schools, and presented an authentic banquet of Taiwanese cuisine, showcasing the softpower of Taiwan cuisine diplomacy.
