Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Chicago Consular Services from August 24, 2020
Due to the pandemic of COVID-19 in the State of Illinois, the number of confirmed cases has continued to rise. As a result of this fact, the Consular Division hours of this office will change temporarily to mitigate relevant risks to the health of applicants and employees of this office. We will be open in the mornings only from Monday to Friday by appointments only starting August 24th, 2020. We continue to encourage you to apply by mail unless it is necessary for you to apply in person. You are advised to contact our office by phone at +1(312) 616-0100 or by email at chi@mofa.gov.tw before submitting your application by mail. If we cannot respond to you immediately due to high call volume, we will get back to you as soon as we can.
In order to observe necessary precautionary measures and reduce the risks of being infected; you are required to wear masks or face coverings at all times inside this office. Please practice social distancing and utilize hand sanitizer placed at the entrance of the Consular Division. The restrooms will be closed to the public during this period, and we apologize for the inconvenience.
