The Joint Chinese College Alumni Association (JCCAA) hosted the first Houston screening of the Taiwanese documentary: A Chip Odyssey on November 15 at the University of St. Thomas. Director General Yvonne Hsiao, Deputy Director Antonio Chen, and Director of Education Division Andrea Yang joined many community members, students, and friends from the tech industry to enjoy this outstanding film that retraces the history of Taiwan’s semiconductor development.
Before the screening, Director General Hsiao, UST Associate Vice President for Government & International Relations Dr. Hans Stockton, and Dr. Yao-Yuan Yeh engaged in a discussion moderated by Vice President of Houston-Taipei Society, Mr Greg Meyers on the topic of “Theme: How Taiwan’s Chipmaking Reshapes the World.” They offered ideas from perspectives of technology, education, and international cooperation, emphasizing that Taiwan and the United States must work together to enhance talent cultivation, strengthen semiconductor supply chain, and ensure innovation competitiveness.
The core message of the documentary highlights how Taiwan’s technological achievements embodies the resilience of our nation. It is the talent, perseverance, and vision of the Taiwanese people that keep us strong and moving forward. We will always be proud of Taiwan!
