The Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in New York is pleased to announce that the event “Mouth Waters Earth” will take place on October 1 at 7pm at the Asian American Writers' Workshop.

Taiwanese writer Chiengfang Chang and chef Pyna Yang will discuss how food, arts and culture weave together the human experience. Participants will also engage in a guided tasting of “aiyu,” a plant indigenous to the mountains of Taiwan.

A food voyager, Chiengfang Chang writes about eating culture across the world and describes the dining table as a key to greater human understanding and sympathy. She is the author of three short story collections—"One Traveler, Sixteen Tables," "A Foreign Journey Through Dining Tables," and "The Table of Gods."

Chef, writer, and traveler, Pyna Yang works closely with indigenous artists and focuses on natural ingredients as well as traditional cooking methods.

The event is hosted by the Asian American Writers' Workshop (AAWW) and co-sponsored by TECO in New York.
