Main responsibilities
- Provide transportation, delivery and errand services to all mission programs and activities; arrange for car maintenance; and provide basic administrative, maintenance and support services to the mission following established mission and departmental policies on a daily basis;
- MUST be available for on-call duties as needed;
- The majority of the driving will take place in and around New York City, but occasional trips will also take place to other regions in the states of New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania;
- Provide additional support as needed, including but not limited to general office duties.
Essential qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of recent experience working as a professional driver, with a valid driving license and clean driving record;
- Operate vehicles in all assigned service areas in a safe, timely and efficient manner;
- Maintain a very good working knowledge of the streets and locations in New York City and greater New York, as well as the states of New Jersey, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania;
- Experience as security guard and/or handyman is a plus;
- Professional attire and excellent communication skills;
- Ability and willingness to work frequent overtime hours (early mornings/late nights) and during weekends;
- Must be in good health with visual acuity that meets the legal standard for driving (visual aids, e.g. glasses acceptable). A medical check will be required.
