Chambers of Commerce in Taiwan and the U.S. signed the MOU

The Importers and Exporters Association of Taipei (IEAT) and the Greater Seattle Partners (GSP) signed the MOU to promote bilateral economic cooperation on May 6th. Secretary General Peter Huang of the IEAT and CEO Brian McGowan of the GSP represent both sides and witnessed by Director General Daniel Chen of TECO in Seattle, Commissioner Ryan Calkins of the Port of Seattle, Vice President Tom Robertson of Microsoft. They also hold a webinar to discuss trade and investment issues after the MOU signing ceremony.
Taiwan and Washington State have shared a closed economic relationship since Taiwan has been the 4th largest trading partner for Washington State in Asia for years. While the trade volume of the agricultural produce, mechanical parts, and steel of both sides is already extraordinary, the cooperation on ICT, AI, and green energy also have huge potentials. The MOU signing of both chambers of commerce will facilitate the interexchange of businesses; expand the market share and investment opportunity for Taiwan and the U.S.
