Drawn mostly from the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts Collection, the exhibition Wayfaring: Photography in 1970s-80s Taiwan is a presentation of Taiwanese society in a visual medium during the 1970s and 1980s. The exhibition features 35 works by 12 Taiwanese artists and the show runs at the Australian Centre on China in the World of the Australian National University (ANU) in Canberra from 30 July to 28 October 2021.
In addition to the exhibition, a series of public outreach programs including Taiwanese film screenings, a panel discussion as well as an on-line Remembering Taiwan’s Martial Law Conference have been organized by ANU to better appreciate the cultural and social development in Taiwan.
Since 2010, the Taiwan Studies Program has been a significant collaboration between ANU and the Ministry of Education(MOE), Taiwan. The Program is to make accessible the knowledge of Taiwanese language, politics, society, culture and history.
