2025 Taiwan Fellowship Program online applications open from 1st May to 30th June, 2024
The Taiwan Fellowship Program is established and funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) of the Republic of China (Taiwan) to award foreign experts and scholars who are interested in the research fields of social sciences and humanities related to Taiwan, cross-strait relations, China, Asia-Pacific region and Sinology to conduct advanced research at universities or academic institutions in Taiwan. As of now, there have been more than 1,400 scholars from more than 93 countries taking part in this program.
This year, besides the above-mentioned fields, Taiwan Fellowship Programs encourages research on topics relevant to Taiwan’s main policy or major diplomacy engagements, such as regional security studies, countering disinformation, techplomacy, and global supply chain and resilience.
Please also note:
- Online applications open from 1st May to 30th June, 2024. A publication list must be included in the resume. Apply on https://taiwanfellowship.ncl.edu.tw and find more information for Guidelines in Mandarin/ English, Application Procedure and FAQ.
- After completing online application, please mail hard-copy application documentsincluding 1) printed application form (received via email after submitting online application); 2) resume including a publication list; 3) a three-page (in principal) research proposal in Mandarin or English with standard research format; 4) two letters of recommendation (one of them could be a consent letter from the chief administrator of the applicant’s institute) by 1st July, 2024 to Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Australia (Unit 8, 40 Blackall Street, Barton ACT 2600).
- TECO in Australia accepts application from Australian Capital Territory and Western Australia only. The applicants from other states or territories in Australia should mail the documents to corresponding TECO offices in Sydney, Melbourne, or Brisbane.
- The list of recipients will be released approximately early November 2024.
