- Application Process
- Please make sure to carefully read the Document Authentication Guidelines.
- To save your valuable time, please complete the application form and prepare the relevant identification and documents before visiting.
- Due to jurisdictional division, our office only handles documents issued by WA or ACT.
- In-Person Applications
- Only CASH is accepted at the counter. Credit card payments or bank transfers are not accepted.
- Submission Location: 2F, Unit 5 / 40 Blackall Street, Barton, Canberra City, ACT 2600
- No appointment is necessary. Please submit your documents during office hours (Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM - 12:30 PM, 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM; please avoid visiting during lunch hours from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM).

Applicant must provide a valid passport.(if necessary, also provide a copy of the relevant passport or ID). For Taiwanese nationals: Provide the original and a copy of the Taiwan passport or National ID card (original will be returned after verification). For non-Taiwan passports: A certified true copy by a Justice of the Peace is required before submission.

| Marriage between Taiwanese Nationals and Nationals of Specific CountriesAccording to the ⌈ Guidelines for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Overseas Missions on Processing Marriage Applications Between Foreign Nationals and Taiwanese Nationals for Interview in Taiwan ⌋, a Taiwanese national intending to marry a citizen of a specific country must first complete the marriage registration in the foreign national’s home country. Afterward, they must prepare the marriage certificate and apply for an interview at the designated overseas mission. Once the marriage certificate is verified by the overseas mission, the applicant can proceed to register the marriage with the domestic household registration office. - Photocopy of Document: AUD 11.00 per copy

- Postal Payment: Money Order or Bank Cheque, payable to "Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Australia." Note: Incorrectly filled payee names will not be accepted.
- Personal cheque and online bank transfer will not be accepted.
- For Overseas Applicants: Please purchase an Australian Dollar Bank Draft from Mega International Commercial Bank (Bank Draft), payable to "Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Australia," or you may arrange for a friend in Australia to pay in person at the office.
- Processing Time
- Processing Time: 5 working days (excluding mailing and additional document submission time).
- For applicants requesting expedited service with all required documents submitted, processing may be completed by the next working day. An additional expedited processing fee will be charged. The expedited service fee is AUD 33 per document, and AUD 17 per copy for additional duplicates (in accordance with Article 7 of the Fee Standards for Authentication of Documents by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and its Overseas Missions).
- Postal Applications: Please refer to the envelope style and postage info. Provide a self-addressed return envelope and carefully review the instructions for Australian postal services and international mailing requirements.
- Domestic Applicants (Within Australia): The office does not provide return envelope purchasing services. If you wish the office to return your documents or mail them overseas, please provide a tracked return envelope (e.g., Registered Post, Express Post, or International Express Letter) with the recipient’s details and contact information.
- Overseas Applicants: Please refer to the envelope style and postage info. The office will collect the postage fees based on Australian postal rates. If there are changes, the new rates set by Australia Post will apply.
