Ambassador Douglas Hsu Attends Lunar New Year Banquet Hosted by Taiwanese Association of Canberra

Ambassador Douglas Hsu and his wife attended the Lunar New Year banquet hosted by the Taiwanese Association of Canberra on 15 March, joining around 170 members of the Taiwanese community and guests in celebrating the Year of the Horse.
In his remarks, Ambassador Hsu extended New Year greetings and wished everyone prosperity and success in the Year of the Horse. He also expressed appreciation for the Taiwanese community’s continued support for Taiwan and its contributions to strengthening Taiwan–Australia ties. Ambassador Hsu further highlighted Taiwan’s achievements across various sectors, including the recent Women’s Asian Cup in Perth, where Taiwan’s women’s football team demonstrated strong performance and resilience on the international stage.
The event, organized by the Taiwanese Association of Canberra, featured a banquet alongside cultural and interactive activities, including Lunar New Year crafts, bracelet and bead-making, as well as children’s games and a lucky draw. A variety of prizes were prepared, including Kaoliang liquor gift sets, personal air purifiers, Taiwanese tea packages, and Taiwan black bear neck pillows. The three-hour celebration fostered community bonds and enhanced Taiwan’s visibility in Canberra.
