The grand opening ceremony of the Taishin International Bank Brisbane Branch was held in Hotel Sofitel Brisbane on 1 November 2017. Representative Elliott Charng was invited to the ceremony to deliver remarks, extending his congratulation to Taishin International Bank on its opening of the Brisbane Branch as well as highlighting close trade and economic ties between Taiwan and Australia. Cr. Graham Quirk, Lord Mayor of Brisbane, and Ms. Kate Hynes, Board Member of the Trade & Investment Queensland, were invited to deliver remarks at the event as well. Prominent officials and business leaders from Australian and Taiwanese communities in Australia with a total of more than 300 people attended the grand opening ceremony.
The official opening of Brisbane Branch is a historical milestone for Taishin International Bank to expand its service network into the southern hemisphere. The Branch will focus on corporate banking business in the early stage and will further expand its services scope to international syndicated loans and trade financing. With the growing Taiwanese community in Australia and the rising business linkage between Taiwan and Australia, demands for financial services are growing steadily. Currently, eight Taiwanese banks have business presence with 10 branches and 1 representative office in Australia, providing sound and reliable international financial services that meet the needs of businesses.
