The Ministry of Education in Taiwan is committed to enrich the professional training for the valued, hardworking Chinese language teachers and lecturers of Australia and New Zealand. One case in point – the launch of the 2020 Professional Development Program in Taiwan for Chinese Language Teachers of Australia & New Zealand opens for applications until the 27th of September 2019.
Education Division of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Australia and the National Taiwan Normal University have jointly planned a professional training course with the following extensive contents:
- Pedagogy on Chinese pronunciation, grammar, characters and language drilling;
- Teaching tools and materials: proficiency assessment Test of Chinese as a Foreign Language (TOCFL) and learning Chinese resources from Taiwan;
- Hand on activities engaging learners: paper making, seal carving, Chinese brush painting and martial arts;
- Cultural visits: Traditional Taiwanese Archery, Traditional Pastry Museum and Taiwan Indigenous village exploration.
With the majority subsidy funded by the Ministry of Education, participants share a very reasonable cost of 400 AUD which will enable them to join the 2 weeks intensive training course at an internationally recognised teachers training institution in Taiwan - the National Taiwan Normal University.
