我國南太平洋友邦吐瓦魯總理拿塔諾 9月3日率團抵達台灣進行國是訪問。拿塔諾總理乙行9月2日在布里斯本轉機,陶令文處長偕同仁接待,並與拿塔諾總理及駐吐瓦魯國大使林東亨在Mount Coot-tha 合影留念。
今年9月適逢中華民國與吐瓦魯建交43週年,蔡英文總統將以隆重軍禮歡迎及國宴款待拿塔諾總理訪團。拿塔諾總理將與外交部長吳釗燮簽署「重申外交關係聯合公報」,並分別與內政部及海洋委員會簽署「警政合作協定」及「海巡合作協定」,強化兩國警務及海巡合作。
拿塔諾總理是台灣最堅定的朋友之一,多次發言挺台,支持我國推動參與聯合國(UN)、世界衛生組織(WHO)及聯合國氣候變化綱要公約(UNFCCC)等,兩國在農業、醫療衛生、教育、文化、潔淨能源及資通訊等領域密切合作。透過本次訪問,台吐邦誼將更加緊密友好。
MOFA welcomes Tuvalu Prime Minister Kausea Natano and Madam Selepa Kausea Natano on their state visit to Taiwan from September 3-9.
This is the prime minister's first visit to Taiwan since his inauguration in 2019 and September marks the 43rd anniversary of the forging of diplomatic ties between our countries.
Accompanying the prime minister will be a delegation comprising Minister of of Public Works, Infrastructure and Environment Ampelosa Manoa Tehulu, Minister of Local Government and Agriculture Saaga Talu Teafa, Ministry of Fisheries and Trade Kitiona Tausi and Secretary to Government Tapugao Falefou.
The delegation will be met with military honors and a state banquet by President Tsai Ing-wen, and discussion will center around the strengthening of cooperation, climate change and other issues of mutual concern.
Prime Minister Natano is also set to sign a communique with MOFA Minister Joseph Wu on the reaffirmation of diplomatic ties, as well as two other agreements with the Ministry of the Interior to deepen cooperation on policing and between the coast guard administrations of both countries.
Taiwan will continue its long-term cooperation with Tuvalu in the fields of agriculture, public health, education, culture, clean energy and ICT going forward!
