4/3 strong earthquake struck Taiwan in the morning was the biggest since the “921” quake in 1999. Classes and work in Hualien county have been canceled.
According to the Central Weather Administration, the earthquake occurred at 07:58, with a magnitude of 7.2 on the Richter scale. The strongest tremors were concentrated in Hualien, reaching level 6 on the seismic intensity scale. Significant shaking was felt across the island.
