Deputy Minister Yen-Hui Lee Visits Brisbane, Strengthening Connections with the Taiwanese Community

Deputy Minister Yen-Hui Lee of the Overseas Community Affairs Council (OCAC) visited Brisbane from 23 to 25 June, meeting with Taiwanese business leaders, community representatives, young professionals and overseas Chinese educators to convey the Taiwanese Government’s continued support and appreciation for the overseas Taiwanese community.
During her visit, Deputy Minister Lee attended a welcome reception hosted by the Queensland Taiwanese community, where she thanked community leaders, Taiwanese businesses, educators and supporters for their longstanding contributions to promoting Taiwan and strengthening Taiwan–Australia ties.
She also visited several Taiwanese-owned businesses to learn about their achievements and exchanged views with young Taiwanese professionals from a wide range of industries on future opportunities for Taiwan–Australia cooperation.
In addition, Deputy Minister Lee visited Fo Guang Shan Chung Tian Temple and Chung Tian Chinese School, where she acknowledged the important role of overseas Chinese education and cultural promotion in fostering people-to-people links between Taiwan and Australia.
The Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Brisbane will continue working closely with the OCAC to support the Taiwanese community, strengthen community engagement, and promote closer cooperation between Taiwan and Australia.
