Taiwanese Chamber of Commerce in Australia (TCCA) hosted a seminar to discuss the road to recovery after COVID on Oct. 31.
The Hon. Scott Farlow, Parliamentary Secretary to the Treasurer and for COVID Recovery was invited as key note speaker, and our very own Director General Ms Fiona H.C. Fan was also invited to speak.
Mr. Farlow in his extensive presentation of NSW's response to COVID, explained how NSW Government rolled a series of policies to prevent and monitor the spread of COVID, and the measures that were implemented to assist business get back to normality.
DG Fan in her remarks congratulated Taiwan and Australia's success in COVID prevention, and expressed the importance for solidarity among like-minded partners at such unprecedented situation. Tourism industry has been hit especially hard with the pandemic, and Australia has been one of the top destination for Taiwanese tourism and education. As Taiwan has gone 200 plus days without community transmission, a travel bubble between Taiwan and Australia would be rational and mutually beneficial.
President Erica Liu of TCCA expressed her gratitude towards Mr Scott Farlow support for sharing NSW Government's experience in curbing the spread of the disease, and the importance for business and government to collaborate to fight through such difficult times.
Thanks to TCCA for hosting such a meaningful event!
